Hello! Welcome to Echlo, Inc (referred to us as “us”, “our”, “we” or “Company”). We make software and services such as Pulse, a simple, private & secure way to share your location as a way to find and meet up with friends. You can share your current location with friends who are using Pulse that you explicitly share with, or friends who you send a web link to.

The Company takes your privacy seriously. The following Policy details the information we collect from you through your usage of our Services and what we do with them.

Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

Information you choose to provide us

When you interact with our Services, we collect information that you choose to provide us. Most of our Services require a basic user account. As part of signing up, we ask you for information that confirms your identity, such your phone number and information that publicly identifies you to others who are using the Services, such as a name, email address and a profile picture. If you are interacting with our web portal, we may ask you to provide us with a name that identifies you to other users of the Services, such as a name. If you ever contact us, we will maintain a record of any information shared with us as well.

Information we get as part of you using our services

As part of using our Services, information is transmitted or collected through our app. Here is a list of information that we may have access to:

  • Our Services uses Geolocation information. We make location sharing apps. This means that during the course of using our Services, we are transmitting your location to other people who you have given access to your location. We may also convert your exact position to an address or business name and share it with other people who you have given access to.

  • Device address book. With your permission, we will use your device’s address book as your friends directory.

  • Device information. We may collect device-specific information, such as the hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, browser type, language, wireless network and mobile network. We also collect device information that will help us diagnose and troubleshoot problems if the rare occasion should arise.

  • Camera and photos. We may require access to your camera and photos should you create a profile picture on the Services.

  • Information collected by cookies and similar technologies. Like most online services and mobile applications, we may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage and unique identifiers to collect information about your activity, browser and device. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually remove or reject browser cookies through the settings on your browser or device.

  • Log information. We collect log file information when you use our Services. That information includes details about how you use our Services, devices used to access the Services, times, pages viewed, IP address, pages you visited prior to our services and any cookies that may uniquely identify your device or browser.

Information we get from third parties

We may collect information about you from other users or third party services. For example, if another user allows us to access the address book on their device, we may combine that information with other information we have collected about you. We may also obtain information from other third-party sources and combine that with the information we collect through our Services.

How we use information

As a general rule of thumb, we use your provided information to ensure that the Services are running properly and improves.

We store your information to help you efficiently access them after you sign in, and that you don’t have to re-enter it across visits to the Services. We may store some information locally on your device. For example, we may store information as a local cache so that you can open the app and view content faster.

We may use your information to provide, improve, test and monitor the effectiveness fo our Services, and this includes monitoring metrics such as number of visitors, traffic and demographic as well as diagnosing or fixing technological problems.

We may also use your information to develop and test new products and features.

How we share information

We do not rent or sell your information to third parties without your consent other than the ways noted below.

We may share your public information such as your name and profile picture with other users of the Services. In the event where you and a third party is put in the same group with a common friend, your phone number may be revealed to the third party, and vice versa.

We may share your information with third parties with service providers who perform services on our behalf and business partners that provides services and functionality to the extent that is required for the function to be performed. We may also share information about you if we believe that disclosing that information complies with any valid legal process, government request or applicable rules or regulations. This also includes investigating and enforcing potential Terms of Use violations, abuse, safety and fraud or security concerns.

If Echlo gets involved in a merger, asset sale, financing or acquisition of some portion of our business to another company, we may share your information with that company before and after the transaction closes.

How we store Information

Your Information collected through the Services may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which we maintain facilities. This means that if you do not reside in the United States, you consent that we may be processing and transferring Information in and to the United States and other countries whose data protection and privacy laws may offer fewer protections than those in your home country.

We make apps and services that allows you to share your location with your friends. We understand your location is private to you, and as such, we only store sufficient information to identify your last known location to people you explicitly share your location with. We may have features that interact with your location that may be stored for the duration of the feature. We do not permanently store your location history on long term storage. However, do note that we cannot guarantee that information is immediately deleted or overwritten. As with any digital information, there may be ways to access information cached or forensically on devices.

Your choices about your Information

We want you to be in control of your information. Update your account at any time by logging in and changing your account settings. If you change your mind about our ongoing ability to collect information from certain sources that you have consented to, such as your device’s address book, simply revoke your consent by changing the device’s settings. However, certain Services require access to certain Information to function, such as your current location, and disabling that will mean that the Services loses full functionality.

Children

We don’t direct our Services to anyone under the age of 13 and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe that we might have any information from a person under 13, please contact us at privacy@echlo.com

Privacy policy changes

We may change this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll let you know one way or the other. Sometimes we’ll revise the date at the top of the privacy policy that is available on our website and mobile application. Other times, we may provide you with additional notice, such as adding a statement on the website’s homepage or an in app notification.
